where can i go to a good pet store to get vitamins for his coat, and what kinds of vitamins work?
Posted by admin | Under Pet Vitamins Thursday Jun 24, 2010i live in the el cajon area in san diego and i want to know what is a good petstore to get vitamins for my dogs coat and what kind of vitamins. my pup is a little over a year old and is an Americam "Pit Bull" Terrier (white). love him to death, and im not looking for people who will jugde me on my dog so if you can read this question is for grown ups, thank you..
Feed your dog one raw egg a day.
You will see a big difference in his coat after a short time.
I give my dogs all type of stuff to keep their coats shiny.
And honestly all my dogs have such shiny coats it looks like their coats are waxed 24/7
a good diet is better than any vitamins.
you should feed your dog a premium food, such as Taste of the Wild, and supplementing that with raw fresh meats and bones (chicken legs with skin on, turkey necks, organ meats like hearts and gizzards, fresh beef) your dog will be very shiny and healthy

You really don’t have to use vitamins to make the coat more healthy. If he eats a good food like Blue Buffalo that should do the trick. Another thing that will do the trick is giving him eggs.

Your dog should not need any vitamins if he’s eating a balanced diet comprised of high quality dog food. Good brands include Wellness, Blue Buffalo, Taste of the Wild, Evo, Fromm, Innova, etc.
One thing good for his coat is cod liver oil. 1/2 tsp a day during the warmer months and 1 tsp a day during cooler months. Just mix it into his food.

I love your enthusiasm to care for your dog but it’s true vitamins should come from the food he eats. Only if he’s deficient of a vitamin should you supply it in a pill. Otherwise it’s just marketing, I’ve had same questions about my pup but she’s fine, try some egg with his meal, carrots, there’s a lot you could give him!

I give my Pit Bull "Pet Tabs" vitamin supplement. You can get it at PetCo or PetSmart.
They’re not hard to find.
This is what I get: http://www.petco.com/product/14947/Pet-Tabs-Plus-Daily-Vitamin-Mineral-Dog-Supplement.aspx?CoreCat=LN_Shopping_DogSupplies_VitaminsandSupplements
For a dogs coat, I also give my white Pit Bull Salmon oil, Ground milled Flaxseed in her food, and I used to give Vitamin E caps. You can also give fish oil caps, and feed a high quality food. I feed Taste of the Wild and her coat is soft and gorgeous.
Good luck!
