my cat has feline aids and i love him to death. is there anything i can buy over the counter or a pet supply store that will help expand his life? and what exactly would that product be?

cats that are not showing symptoms of AIDS do not need anything special to "expand his life" just treat him as you would any other cat. if symptoms do arise, or kitty gets a cold, get him to the vet so that they can give the cats meds to get rid of the cold…. good luck!

Owing a cat can be a very gratifying experience especially if you’ve done your homework and understand the tasks involved in having one as a pet.

The First Few Days
It is only natural that when you take your new kitten home, it may feel lost and disorientated. It will meow in search of her mother, hide in tiny places, refuse to eat and in general be sad. The way to alleviate this stress is to try and make her feel at home and comfortable all the time.

Cats, like many other pets, like good habits. It is important … More...

Cats – Loving and Maintaining is a post from: Lordmardo.com

From: Dr Andrew Jones

Author: Veterinary Secrets Revealed

A common question I have been asked lately is about the Cat flu.

It’s going around, and more often than not a visit to your veterinarian will result in antibiotics. But little else.

And its a virus… antibiotics are NOT effective. In fact this approach can cause problems.

Reactions to the antibiotics can include vomiting, diarrhea and severe allergic reactions, as well as liver disease and immune mediated disease,

Resistance can develop to the antibiotic so it may not be effective when your pet needs it.

Does this Sound a little … More...

Cat Flu and Antibiotics is a post from: Lordmardo.com

For most people, exercising a dog consists of a trip to the park for a run around. In some cases this might suffice, but responsible owners should be aware of the quantity and quality of exercise that their dog needs to maintain optimum health. Ask yourself the following questions.

1) How often does your dog get exercised?

It does not take a genius to work out that you put on weight if you do not burn off the calories that you ingest. Exercise is extremely important to the health and well being of your dog. Fit dogs are happier, … More...

Does Your Dog Get The Right Amount Of Exercise? is a post from: Lordmardo.com

Like many older breeds, the origin of the Maine Coon is unclear and steeped in rumor. Some believe Maine Coons, also known as American Longhair, American Shag, American Forest Cat, American Snughead and Maine Trick Cat, are a cross between semi-domestic wild cats and raccoons (doubtful if not impossible). Others believe that Marie Antoinette sent her beloved Angoras to America for safety. They escaped and inbred with wild cats. Still others believe a cat was brought to Maine by Captain Coon and the cat escaped to live in the wilds of Maine.

Whatever the origins, it is generally agreed … More...

Maine Coon – the Facts Every Owner of This Cat Breed Should Know is a post from: Lordmardo.com

You dog can get the omega 3′s, which is as good for them as it is for us from a flax seed oil supplement. Just one spoonful mixed with his meal and he’s good to go.
NO, Dogs need different types of multi vitamins and in different doses than humans do. I give my dogs Canine Multi Essential Dog Vitamins as they fill in the nutritional gaps typical of even a good natural diet. These high quality, easily absorbed vitamins will help your stay healthy and energetic. I bought it online here: http://www.petwellbeing.com/dog-vitamins-p76.cfm

There aren’t many rules about what can be used in dog food, and what you don’t know could make your dog VERY sick.

Choose food specifically made for puppies. As a general rule, it’s better to buy brand name puppy food rather than generic or low-priced food. You can’t really tell from the ingredient whether or not a particular food is good or bad.

Many things that you would look for on the labels of food you buy for yourself — extra protein or vitamins — may actually harm your pet rather.

If you want to know exactly what your cat is being fed each day, then the best way is to prepare a homemade cat food recipe yourself. However, for your cat to remain healthy, it is important to ensure that your homemade cat food recipe includes sufficient animal protein, calcium, phosphorus, iodine and vitamins. This is usually obtained from red meat, liver, kidney, heart, chicken and sometimes milk.

Generally, raw food contains more nutrients as cooking destroys some vitamins, especially vitamin B. It needs to match his black studded collar.

~~~ Hmmm…….I didn’t know silk clothing was warm. As for purchasing a cute little outfit for your pet rat,I think you may be out of luck. I called a few Pet Stores and inquired;under the pretext of doing doing some early Christmas shopping for my own rat Bob M. I even tried Petco, cause that’s where your pets go, according to their commercials. I informed them I wanted something that would match his macho black studded collar. They asked if I was nuts. I affirmed that. Then they intimated that what … More...
Where can I purchase cute warm silk clothing for my pet rat when it’s freezing outside? is a post from: Lordmardo.com
Thus, I am wondering if it is safe to feed them other foods and if it is, what kind nutritional supplements I might have to add.
Thanks for any info!
Kitties should be slim, not round! Overweight and obese cats are at much higher risk of developing heart disease and diabetes, among other things. If you want your kitty to live longer and healthier, he/she should maintain an ideal weight. The second link below describes how to assess your cat’s body condition score (BCS). Various proteins also create their share of problems in certain dogs. I was shocked to learn that some dogs are allergic to chicken, while I know from first-hand experience that my Jack Russell Terrier Lucy used to be allergic to beef. Here’s an approach worth trying if your dog is exessively itching and scratching.
They sell these products at the pet store and online, but I think the ones I take personally are higher quality. Are there any difference between the products made for human or pets other than the mg content?
Yes,it’s good for them.I have given my dogs CoQ 10 many times and it’s fine. It’s great for their hearts.I haven’t tried grape seed extract,but it is in their food. I believe it is the fruit of the grape that is toxic to dogs,otherwise,they would not put the seed extract in foods or supplements for them.
Why is my pet mouse eating its faeces instead of the normal food I give it? I have 2 mice and one is not doing that, at least, I haven’t seen that, and the other one just loves it. It looks so creepy. Maybe the mouse needs some extra vitamins or something but I just can’t find any further information.
Rodents like guinea pigs and rabbits ingest their fresh feces again to get every single possible nutrient from it. When they excrete it once more, they leave it alone. It’s not uncommon for other rodents to do this as … More...
Why is my pet mouse eating its faeces? is a post from: Lordmardo.com
