Cat health question: How can spraying aerosol spray in a cats face affect the cat?

Monday Nov 9, 2009

On Easter Sunday my Grandma sprayed febreeze directly into the cat’s face. The next day he was showing signs of illness. Today he was admitted into the animal hospital for liver problems. The cat is 9 years old.

Could it have been the spray or just coincendental?

Geezus nice grandmother. Why did she do that? I’m sure the cat probably smelled better than your grandmother.

Of course it’s related to this. She sprayed dangerous chemicals INTO ITS FACE. Unless your grandmother is suffering from dementia and wasn’t aware she did this she should be brought up on animal cruelty charges. What a sick, cruel thing to do to a pet! I hope it survives.

Hmm. Spray it into your grandmother’s face and see what happens to her.

I cannot stand people who hurt animals.

Maybe.
febreeze contains ciclodrextrin which even its not lethal, might not be used directly on animals!
No matter how pet-friendly the product claims to be, she should have never done that

Why on earth did she do that? Grr, I hate it when people do stuff like that to poor animals! I am guessing that it was the spray, there are chemicals in there that can harm animals. Sigh…you need to have a good talking to your Grandma about stuff like that. Poor kitty!

um, it’s the spray. why in the world did granny spray febreeze in his face? accident i hope? but it would be like spaying any chemical into your face, you would get sick too. just think though, his body and organs are much smaller and are affected more. hope kitty pulls through! sorry to hear about it, good luck!!
